Buildings

You'd never miss the rocks
solitary, shameless
barbarians of the earth and mockers of time
stubborn like you and I
without any trace of reserve
At least you escaped the wild
No longer rooted to the ground
weighted by no man's law
that conviction of harmony
No, you surpassed these stoic giants
and you carved victory into their flesh
yet still you grovel, still in your darkness your inferior
So hide
Build into the grace you refuted
sculpt tremorous beasts that spout the thirsts of the earth
and crown these upon you protector
these silent bodies
that hold you ambitions
and glower in your humility
